In recent events, famous actor Sai Pallavi has found herself in the middle of a social media backlash during her promotional run for the upcoming film, Ek Din. Ahead of the film’s release on May 1, the makers had organised a musical evening in Mumbai called Ek Din ki Mehfil, celebrating the project. During this event, the actor attempted to address the audience and guests in Hindi, but struggled with fluency. Read to know more about it here.

Sai Pallavi Speaking In Hindi

While addressing the audience, Sai Pallavi calmly admitted that her Hindi is not that great. Soon after this video went viral, it garnered mixed reactions from the public. While some commended her for being honest, others criticised her for not being able to speak the language fluently. One X (Previously Twitter) user wrote, Meet Sai Pallavi: Can’t speak basic words of Hindi. Now she’s playing Sita Mata in Ramayana.” This referred to her upcoming role in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana.

While another wrote, “What they smoke before casting these kinds of so-called actors in a 4000cr movie, who can’t even differentiate between chahta and chahti.” Her fans also came to her defence and stated, “She can speak any language properly if you’ll give her a script, but here she has to speak on her own without any script, and Hindi is not her 1st nor 2nd language, so it’s okay.”
