Saba Qamar Regrets Not Keeping In Touch With Irrfan Khan In His Final Days, Says His Death Left Her Devastated

The year 2020, was a year of grief. All of us lost so many people who were close to us, who we looked up to, who inspired us, and who we respected. Even the film industry lost so many of its gems. One of them being the legend, Irrfan Khan. I don’t know how and why, but his death, to me, felt personal. And I know for a fact that it was not only me who felt this way. A lot of actors and actresses from around the world mourned his death and Saba Qamar was one of them. Saba Qamar who worked with Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium recently revealed that she regretted not keeping in touch with the actor after his health deteriorated.

Saba Qamar, a Pakistani actor who made her Bollywood debut with Hindi Medium, recently opened up in an interview about not keeping in touch with her co-actor Irrfan Khan in his final days. She spoke about how his death left her completely devastated.

Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with cancer after Hindi Medium came out in 2017 and died on April 29, 2020, at the age of 53. Speaking about his death, Saba Qamar said, “I have that regret. After the film when his health deteriorated, I kept thinking that I will call him but I was busy shooting and travelling so I couldn’t. Then one day I heard about him and I was devastated and shattered. That day I realised that one should avail the time they have because that time never comes back. If you want to apologise to someone or express your love then just do it, as that moment won’t come back. So I have that regret that I wish I had called him, spoken to him, and would have been in contact.”

Saba Qamar further went on to talk about some of the fond memories she shared with Irrfan Khan. She spoke about how fine of an actor he was and how much fun it was working with him. She spoke highly of him and said that she became a better actor under his guidance.

Honestly, I can’t believe that it’s going to be 2 years since the actor passed away. I will say this though, his presence in the film industry will always be missed.
