5 Times We Wanted To Give Robbie Coltrane AKA Hagrid A Giant Hug For Being His Cute Fuzzy Self In ‘Harry Potter’!
Just as Hagrid was a huge part of Harry Potter’s life, he had also become a fan-favourite of all those who watched the films! The way his hugs would engulf young Harry, Hermoine and Ron made me feel wish I had such a nice teacher at my school, too! But alas, neither did I go to a magic school nor did I have a teacher like Hagrid! The actor who played the role of Hagrid, Robbie Coltrane, passed away on October 15 at the age of 72. Looking at the fans pouring in tributes for Robbie made me take a trip down memory lane remembering some of the sweetest moments he shared with the cast of Harry Potter as Hagrid.
When he gets Harry his first birthday cake
When Rubeus Hagrid breaks open the door of the little cave where Harry is hiding with his uncle and aunt, he gets him his first birthday cake, too! He had baked the cake himself for Harry!
He treated the magical creatures with such tenderness
Be it Buckbeak or the Giant Spider, Aragog, who scared almost everyone in Hogwarts, Hagrid treated them all with such kindness and love!
When Hagrid gave Dudley a tail!
This has to be one of my favourite moments from Harry Potter! I hated “Duddles” from the start of the film and when hagrid gave him a tail, I burst out laughing out loud!
He was always there for Harry and his friends
No what how dire the situation at Hogwarts was and how much trouble Harry and his friends were in, the doors of Hagrid’s hut were always open to them! He always comforted them!
When he comforts Hermoine after Draco called her a mudblood
He gives Hermoine advice to not think much of Draco’s comment because it doesn’t matter what he says. He lovingly holds her hand and comforts her, too!
