The Internet has done it, yet again. In a recent thread on Reddit, users trolled Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan which was not just insensitive but also downright unnecessary. Trolling actors and actresses had been a thing on the Internet for ages but this time they just took it a notch up by targeting Suhana’s complexion. And the justification? Blaming her father’s past endorsements of fairness creams.

Being a big star SRK should have avoided doing such ads. Today his daughter is facing trolls for the same reason.

Let’s be real here: Shah Rukh Khan’s promotion of fairness creams was a misstep. But does that justify attacking his daughter? Absolutely not! But for that, making comments on Suhana’s appearance. all under the guise of holding her accountable for her father’s actions is just not the best way to go around it. Actors and actresses have gotten hate for such endorsements before but the whole point of this hate is promoting the idea of being “fair” as a standard. This thread is almost an irony of what the discussion started in the first place.

The anonymity of Internet users often makes people spew hate without any repercussions. But these trolls fail to realize the real-life impact these comments and words have. This is definitely not just about an actor getting hate on the internet, it goes much deeper than this. Suhana is just another young woman trying to work through her life under the shadow of her father’s fame. But subjecting her to such vitriol is beyond cruel.
