Raveena Tandon Says Film Industry Should Learn From OTT And TV About Pay Parity

The discussion around gender pay parity has become more prevalent nowadays. Many actresses have come forward to speak about this in the film industry. While that continues to remain a raging issue for actresses, Raveena Tandon recently asked the film industry to learn about pay parity from platforms like OTT and Television. The actress was part of the “National Conclave On Mann Ki Baat 100th” Panel. During the Nari Shakti session of the conclave, Raveena Tandon compared the pay conditions of actresses in the Film, OTT and TV industries. In fact, she also talked about female-centric content on all the aforementioned platforms.

Raveena Tandon, the actress who has never failed to charm the audience with her impressive acting skills put forth her opinions on pay parity. During the National Conclave On Mann Ki Baat 100th, the actress stated that the film industry should take tips from OTT and television when it comes to paying parity and female-oriented content. She firmly stated that the actresses in TV and OTT are paid more than their male counterparts. Raveena Tandon further said that the female-centric content focusing on issues faced by women is made more in the OTT and TV. She even went on to say that it’s the women who are ruling the TV industry. 

As for the film industry, the actress added that progress is slow, and the women holding authority are making the change possible. However, Raveena Tandon also acknowledged that women these days are holding higher positions in the film industry which has made opportunities for actresses easier, as per the news.

While we agree with the fact that TV produces more female-centric content because it caters to this gender more, however, not many female TV celebs have spoken about pay parity in the industry.
