Highlighting that ageism exists, the Happy Family: Conditions Apply actress said that it has now become easier for women of her age to get work. Adding more, she said that she does not believe in the work that is tailormade keeping the actor in mind. Elaborating more, Ratna Pathak Shah said that if makers focus on the actor, they limit the character to the actor’s personality, and she will not get a chance to challenge herself.

Ratna Pathak Shah was also happy that the industry is exploring different genres and plots of films. She said that the age-old formulaic films will not work anymore and she is extremely satisfied with this change. Shah also said that now is a good time to work in the industry as people of all genders and ages are getting work and it’s not just limited to males and females.
