Dhurandhar star Ranveer Singh is currently shooting for his next zombie thriller film called Pralay, which has undergone a big schedule change. Reports suggest that the film was earlier expected to have a long schedule in Australia, but will now be shot in Mumbai. This decision reportedly happened because the actor wanted to be close to his wife and actor Deepika Padukone, who is pregnant with their second child. Read to know more about it here.
About Ranveer Singh’s Pralay
A report by India Today stated that Ranveer Singh wanted to be close to Deepika Padukone as they get close to welcoming their second child after baby Dua. He reportedly didn’t want to be “away,” so the makers are making changes to shift the schedule in the city. However, this was not the sole reason behind this change; reports also suggest that the Pralay team also did not manage to arrange permissions to shoot at certain locations in Australia. And because of these two reasons, the team reportedly decided to instead move the shoot to Mumbai since this was the practical option. This was a huge logistical change for a film which is being planned as a large-scale project with heavy VFX.

The film is being directed by Hansal Mehta’s son, Jai Mehta, and is said to be set in a post-apocalyptic world. Previous reports have also claimed that the plot of Pralay revolves around a married couple trying to survive in a dystopian Mumbai. It is also Singh’s first time doing the zombie-survival genre and reportedly has a budget of Rs 300 crore. The makers also seem to recreate and adopt portions of the planned Australia schedule in Mumbai while preparing for the production. For the unversed, Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dua, in September 2024. The duo later announced their second pregnancy earlier in 2026.
