‘Shamshera’ Teaser Unveiled. Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt Starrer Gets A New Release Date

I’ve missed watching Ranbir Kapoor on-screen for a while now. Thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve been locked out of theatres for a while now. But now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. As the Maharastra government mulls over going mask-free, Yash Raj Films has shared a teaser of the much-awaited film Shamshera starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. And it looks like this Karan Malhotra directorial period action drama is set to hit the theatres on July 22 this year. The makers have unveiled the first look of the film and revealed that the film will release in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Sanjay Dutt will be playing the antagonist in Shamshera as per media reports. This Ranbir, Vaani starrer went on floors in December 2018 and wrapped up in January 2020. Shamshera was initially set to release in theatres on July 31, 2020, but was delayed due to the lack of additional footage due to the Covid-19 pandemic induced lockdown. A new release date was announced for the film in 2021 but was postponed yet again due to the pandemic.

According to the trailer, this Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer film revolved around the dacoits of pre-independence India. While nothing has been officially revealed about the plot, reports have claimed that the film has a new take on dacoit.
