Ram Gopal Varma Compares Ranveer Singh To Leonardo DiCaprio While Slamming War 2

Famous filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has been one of the biggest cheerleaders ever since Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge hit the theatres. He has been sharing his honest views online while appreciating the project. And during a recent chat, he analysed the film through a technical lens. During the same time, he also took a jibe at Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan. The director then went on to compare Ranveer Singh’s performance to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Ram Gopal Varma On Dhurandhar 2

During an interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Ram Gopal Varma said that Ranveer Singh’s character Gamza commits as many ‘bad things’ as a villain like ISI chief Major Iqbal. He stated, “If you look at it, Hamza has done as many bad things as the so-called bad guys in the film. You’re taking the perspective that we’re Indians, and they’re Pakistanis. But if you take all of us as human beings, they’re all caught in a situation.” He then praised Aditya Dhar for showing all the characters in shades of grey while maintaining a larger-than-life vibe.

He then went on to indirectly slam War 2 without actually mentioning the film’s name. RGV said that two big stars were fighting in a big-budget film recently without any expression. He pointed out how there was barely any impact on the hero’s punches. They’re treated like superhuman figures who don’t experience pain the way ordinary people do, largely to maintain a certain larger-than-life image for their fans or for other similar reasons.
