On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 30, Saira Banu took to her Instagram handle to share a sweet story about Dilip Kumar and his rakhi-sister Lata Mangeshkar. She wrote about how Dilip Sahab taught Lata ji Urdu and also shared some unseen pictures of the two celebrating their brother-sister bond.

Sharing the beautiful pictures of Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, Saira Banu wrote that the two shared a brother-sister-like bond. The two travelled via local trains from home to work and on one such train ride, Dilip Sahab gave tips to Lata ji on getting her Urdu right. He explained to her that the true trick in mastering Urdu lies in flawless pronunciation.

Giving more details about their rapport, Saira Banu wrote that Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar always made time for each other on Raksha Bandhan when she would tie the ‘sacred’ rakhi on his wrist. Saira ji also shared a video of this as well. Banu also wrote about how Dilip Sahab always introduced Lata ji with pride when she would perform internationally.

Saira Banu also wrote that Lata Mangeshkar would often visit Dilip Kumar at home where the two would have lunch or dinner together. She also shared a picture of the last time Lata ji came to meet Dilip Sahab and she fed him with his own hands.
