Priyanka Chopra Says She Was Not Sure Malti Marie ‘Would Make It’ After Premature Birth

It took her some while to even share pictures of Malti Marie on her Instagram but even when she does, the little one’s face is always hidden. The global icon took the world by surprise when she announced the birth of her daughter through surrogacy. This news stirred up a storm and people began to criticise her for not carrying her daughter in her own womb. All along Priyanka has maintained her silence on these nasty comments about her and her daughter. But in the recent British Vogue interview, Priyanka Chopra shared all the emotions she felt after Malti Marie was born premature and how she and Nick Jonas were not sure if MM would make it.
Priyanka Chopra talks about daughter Malti Marie’s health
In the interview, the 40-year-actor shared details about Malti Marie’s health right from when she was born. She said that she was in the operating room when MM was born and she was smaller than her hand in size. MM was born one entire trimester earlier than the assumed due date. Priyanka also said that the intensive care nurses had to intubate her little one.

Talking about how Priyanka and Nick had spent this entire critical time being alongside their little daughter, she said that they would have had Malti Marie on their chests every day. The Love Again actor did not delve into the circumstances that had her and Nick turn to surrogacy but she did reveal that she had developed medical conditions.

Priyanka Chopra celebrated her first Mother’s Day last year by sharing Malti Marie’s first picture on her social media. She also penned a lengthy caption writing that Malti Marie is finally home after spending more than 100 days in the NICU. She also thanked the doctor and the nurses at Rady’s Children’s Hospital for taking such good care of her daughter.
