Priyanka Chopra Hails ‘Bridgerton’ Season Two For Desi Representation, Says She Loves The Sharma Sisters

We all love a good romance with a slow burn and Bridgerton is just that. My ovaries practically died while watching the first season and they resurrected and died again and again in season 2. After the passionate fairytale romance of Daphne and Simon, we’re now getting an opportunity to witness Anthony Bridgerton’s romance with his ladylove. But that’s not all. Season 2 of Bridgerton has been making headlines for its South Asian representation as well as showing our desi culture and traditions with the Sharmas who happen to have Indian roots. While we all celebrate the diversity in the show, Bollywood turned Hollywood queen, Priyanka Chopra took to social media to hail mainstream television for the desi representation.

Sharing a picture of the Sharma sisters from Bridgerton Season 2, Priyanka Chopra pointed out that it is ‘wonderful’ to witness desi representation on mainstream television. She went on to add that she loves the show and the Sharma sisters. “I have to say.. it’s so wonderful to see desi representation on mainstream TV. It was such an anomaly when I started. Love the show and the Sharma sisters!” wrote the actress in a tweet and in her Instagram story.

ICYMI, Bridgerton season 2 is streaming on the OTT platform Netflix. IMHO, you definitely should not miss out on watching this Regency-era romance drama.
