Sandeep Sejwal, Husband Of Pooja Banerjee, Talks About Taking Paternity Leave And Enjoying Parenthood

Pooja Banerjee and her husband Sandeep Sejwal welcomed their newborn daughter. The couple took to Instagram to share the first glimpse of their baby girl on March 14, 2022. Needless to say, a lot of celebrities and fans flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages. And now, the Indian swimmer and husband of Pooja Banerjee, opened up about his paternity leave to spend time with her baby girl and shortlist names for their ‘Gulabo’.


In the interview, Sandeep Sejwal expressed how excited he is about the arrival of his first child, a girl. He also revealed that Pooja Banerjee gave birth to their daughter on March 12 around 11 am. He also mentioned that both – the mother and the daughter – are doing well.

He further added that Pooja Banerjee and he are still shortlisting names for their newborn. He said, “Everyone in the family has been calling non-step and they all are excited. Surprisingly, we did not do much preparation. We have in fact not finalised any names not for a boy or a girl. We have shortlisted a few names but we haven’t finalised anything. Now that the baby is here, we will sit, talk and come to a conclusion.”

The Indian swimmer further mentioned that it will take two days or so to take Pooja Banerjee and their newborn daughter home. And he also will be taking a 15 days paternity leave to spend time with his child. He further said that a change should be made in a way that both men and women get treated equally and both the parents can enjoy parenthood.

If you ask me, I agree with men taking paternity leave. I mean, why should the responsibility of a child(ren) always fall on women alone?
