While conversing on Zoom, Parineeti Chopra expressed that the trolling of women’s bodies after pregnancy is “absolutely illiterate”. She then questioned why women are subjected to expectations after having a baby. Not just that, the actor also stressed how other physical changes, such as working out or getting a tan at the beach, are accepted, whereas changes that come with pregnancy and childbirth are perceived in a different manner. She then called out trolls by saying who are they to tell postpartum women that it’s been 6 months after giving birth and she should bounce back quickly? She revealed finding it so “illiterate”. The Ishaqzaade star further stated that she looks at her stretch marks like, “Oh my God, you know why I have the stretch marks? I made a baby.” She revealed finding it so beautiful. Parineeti further asked how and when that stretch mark or any change in one’s body became negative. She further asked women to live their lives and just ignore these “uneducated people”. Parineeti also asked why female actors are scrutinised for taking certain kinds of messy roles after marriage while male actors are rarely questioned for doing the same thing.
