Popular Malaysian actor Michelle Yeoh has often talked about watching cinema from all around the world including India. She has also stated that Indian cinema has fascinated her for long. The 62-year-old plays the regal headmistress Madame Morrible in the upcoming musical Wicked, expressed her love for the vibrant film industry. During an interview, Michelle Yeoh stated that she would love to feature in an Indian film.

Michelle Yeoh Wants To Do An Indian Film

During a recent chat with Hindustan Times, the Wicked actor was asked about the possibility of her working in an Indian film, to which she said, “Oh, absolutely. I would love that.” She continued by expressing her love for the country and admitting that she had visited India a few times.

She added that she loved the culture and the whole extravaganza of Indian films. She said that she thinks that Indians truly love films. She further added, “So yes, I would immediately respond with a resounding, “Please call me!”

Michelle Yeoh admitted she has “quite a list” of people she would like to cooperate with, but she playfully refrained from identifying anyone. She said she would love to work with someone behind the camera as well. But didn’t take any names to save herself from any trouble.

When asked if she saw any connections between Wicked and Indian films she’s watched, especially given that Indian cinema is famed for its larger-than-life spectacles and musical extravagance. She said, “It’s very similar — the whole concept of song and dance, big sets. It’s very Indian if you look at it and compare it that way,”

We can’t wait to watch this collaboration on the big screen soon!
