Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon has become the talk of the town ever since many on the internet questioned her outfit in Giva’s Raksha Bandhan ad. While many came in support of her, others like actor-politician Kangana Ranaut slammed her for wearing a bralette-style blouse with a deep neck. Nupur Sanon Defends Kriti Sanon
Nupur Sanon took to her Instagram stories and reposted her sister Kriti Sanon’s story and backed her with strong words. She slammed those criticising her sister by questioning how they were bothered by another woman’s clothes. She further asked the audience to evolve, and pointed out that she is the one to whom Kriti ties the Rakhi, and if she has no issues with it, then others must not be bothered by it either. We 100% agree with this statement and feel that the backlash is pointless.
On the other hand, Kriti Sanon also penned a strong statement and hit back at trolls questioning her outfit. She spoke about how the essence of festivals was in the clothes, but the emotions and meaning one held for them. She further explained that Raksha Bandhan was a bond of protection and shared that she and her sisters tied Rakhi to each other every year because they knew they could protect each other no less than a brother.
Sanon further said that they prayed for everyone’s health and happiness and that the festival extended to dogs too, emphasising that they too were family. Concluding this, Kriti asked when people would stop telling women what to wear and said that a woman’s respect for her culture must never be measured with her clothes since traditions were in the heart, not in the neckline.
