Now, amid the ongoing controversy, the actress will be appearing before the National Commission for Women on Thursday. This comes after Dutt submitted a written apology over the same last month.
Nora Fatehi Will Appear Before the Commission Amid The ‘Sarke Chunar’ Row
According to Hindustan Times, Nora Fatehi has been asked to appear before the National Commission on May 8 at 11:30 AM. It’s worth mentioning that earlier, the actress failed to appear in front of NCW as she was travelling abroad. She had also asked for a fresh date for the hearing. When the controversy erupted, the actress had distanced herself from the Hindi version of the song, stating that she had shot the Kandanna version and that her permission had not been taken for its usage in the Hindi language.
When Sanjay Dutt, who also starred in the song, appeared before the committee last month, he wrote an apology and expressed his regret over the unintentional harm this song has caused society. He is also reportedly committed to sponsoring the education of 50 tribal girl children as part of efforts towards social welfare and women’s empowerment.
