In recent events, Veteran actor Nana Patekar has passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Goa home at the age of 75. Reports suggest that he was with his nephew Prasad Patekar and had been complaining of a headache since the previous night. He was found unconscious, after which he was taken to the hospital, where the doctors tried to revive him for almost 45 minutes; even after that, there was no response. Nana Patekar Passes Away
As quoted by NDTV India, Nana Patekar was declared dead at 5:20 am, after which his son, Malhar Patekar, left Pune to go to Goa. After his demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke about him and called him an “exceptional artist” and a “parinda.” Patekar’s last rites will be performed at his Pune farmhouse on Thursday, according to a representative of his social organisations. The farmhouse is in Donje on the outskirts of Pune city. The actor was seen in a video from Panjim, Goa, just a couple of days ago, where she was playing musical instruments with some children.
During a chat with ANI, the Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital said that he had already passed away when he was brought to the hospital. He said that even after trying to save him for 45 minutes, he did not respond. Nana sent a message to his friend at 2:30 am about not feeling well and that he was sweating. The friend went to the actor’s house only to find him unconscious and immediately took him to the hospital. A police case has also been filed due to this being a medico-legal case. The body has been taken to the Goa College for post-mortem. His family was not present, but his friends and a caretaker were there with him.
