Maheck Chahal Compares Her Role In ‘Naagin 6’ To Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Says She’s Indian Wonder Woman. Seriously?
One of the most-awaited shows on Indian television right now is Naagin 6. The 6th season of the show created by Ekta Kapoor starring Tejasswi Prakash as lead is making the headlines almost every other day. And today, once again it is in the headlines as one of the other actors who will play a role in the show spoke about her character. Yep, Maheck Chahal who is also playing a role in Naagin 6 recently opened up about her character and compared it to that of Wonder Woman (really?). She said that it is her character that is going to save the world from coronavirus.

Maheck Chahal who is sure to be in Naagin 6 has come out and opened up about her role in the show. She said her role is similar to that of Wonder Woman as she will be saving the world from a deadly virus – coronavirus. She even said that she plays a strong female character that will make a lot of girls wish they were in her shoes.

Speaking about her role in Naagin 6 in an interview, Maheck Chahal said, “Honestly, I am playing the Indian Wonder Woman. She is out there to save the world from coronavirus. It’s a very positive character and I am super excited about it. The whole story has been changed this season. And I am glad that the makers were able to create such a strong character. I have worked with Ekta earlier in Kavach and I think she saw it in me to pull this off. I had shifted to Goa post the lockdown and she called me with this show. It’s an amazing role and I am sure many girls would want to be in my shoes at the moment.”

When asked about the criticism the show is facing for using the pandemic as a plotline, Maheck Chahal came to its defence and said that they aren’t making fun of the matter as it is a very serious matter. She thinks in the time to come there will be many films and shows like Naagin 6 which will be based on the pandemic. And since the whole nation was impacted by the coronavirus, the plotline and the show will be extremely relatable to them.

Maheck Chahal also spoke about why she chose to take up the role in Naagin 6. The actress said, “Naagin’s character spoke to me so deeply and I knew then I just had to take it up. She is the protector of India, she is strong and powerful. I believe Indian women these days exude these qualities and that is why I wanted to take up a role that represents my belief in the woman of today.”

Ngl, I was facepalming when I heard about the fact that she not only compared her role to Wonder Woman but also called herself the Indian Wonder Woman. I’m not saying that her role is not important or that it won’t inspire other girls, I’m just saying that going that far with comparison, honestly seems like an exaggeration. And no one can take the place of Gal Gadot, ever!
