‘Lock Upp’ Contestant Poonam Pandey Reveals Horrific Details Of Abuse Inflicted Upon Her By Estranged Husband Sam Bombay

We’re barely a week into Lock Upp and as expected the controversies have begun. First, Nisha Rawal opened up about her feud with Karan Mehra and her 4-year-old son going to a behavioural therapist. And now, we have another contestant who opened up about facing assault at home at the hands of her husband. Yep, I’m talking about Poonam Pandey. In Tuesday’s episode of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp, Poonam Pandey revealed that she was brutally beaten by her Sam Bombay.

During one of the episodes of Lock Upp, Poonam Pandey revealed that she once suffered from a brain haemorrhage after Sam Bombay physically abused her and beat her up.

While speaking to Karanvir Bohra who is another Lock Upp contestant, Poonam Pandey opened up about how she had filed a domestic violence case against her now ex-husband Sam Bombay just weeks after marrying him.

When asked whether she ever loved Sam Bombay, Poonam Pandey said that she once had loved him and now she just dislikes him. She further said, “Who likes to get beaten up. I had like four floors of house, private garden, private terrace, I had everything. I had a big house. If I am in one room, I am not allowed to be in that room. He would ask me why are you in that room, would force me to be with him in the room he wanted. When I would tell him that I wanted some time with myself, some fresh air, I wasn’t allowed. I was not allowed to take my phone anywhere, and was not allowed to touch my phone in my own house.”

Poonam Pandey further revealed, “If I love my dogs and sleep with them, he would say I love my dogs more than him. What kind of statement is that? Why should I get f**** beaten up for loving my dogs? Is that a reason to get a brain haemorrhage? Because I have one.” Replying to Karanvir Bohra, who asked the Lock Upp contestant how long she had been putting up with the domestic abuse, the actress replied four years.

Going into the details of it, Poonam Pandey said that once Sam Bombay repeatedly hit her on the same side of her head and she had to cover up it with makeup and act as though nothing happened in front of their friends. She then opened up about her ex-husband’s drinking problem and how that would scare away the staff. She said, “If a person starts drinking from morning 10 am, till night and in the night there would be nobody around to save us. The staff would get scared, they would leave.”

Just hearing her talk about how she was abused at home, breaks my heart. Having said that, I feel as though Kangana Ranaut’s reality show, Lock Upp, seems more of a therapeutic show for the celebs who one by one open up about their life problems.
