The previous episodes of Lock Upp left viewers emotional as they saw Payal Rohatgi pouring her heart out about not being able to have a child. In fact, the viewers saw an emotional side of her that they’ve not seen before when she revealed a secret about her private life. The actress had a breakdown when the topic of marriage was brought out and she revealed that she has been desperately wanting to get married to her beau Sangram Singh for the past 12 years but still has not been able to tie the knot. And in the latest episode of Lock Upp, Payal Rohatgi revealed that one of the major reasons for the delay in marriage is because she can’t conceive even after 5-7 years of trying.
During the Lock Upp episode, Payal Rohatgi was sitting in the yard area and cutting onions when she got emotionally vulnerable in front of Azma, soon after which Anjali Arora and Saisha Shinde came rushing to her to ask her the reason behind her tears. It is then that she revealed that one of the reasons why she and Sangram Singh have not tied the knot is because she can’t get pregnant.

Payal Rohatgi went on to say that everyone has secrets and they chose not to talk about them since they were on a reality show and some things might end up triggering other things. Looking at Saisha Shinde, the actress said, “Aapne bola na Sangram ne aap ko kuch aisa bola jisse mere cha*** geeli hojaayegi. So, the reason we have not got married is because I am trying to have a kid and I can’t. It’s been 5 years, it’s been 7 years, I am trying and I can’t, it doesn’t work. I tell Sangram to get married to a girl who can give him a child. I’ve always told him this because I can’t give him a child. This is not part of my secret because I never wanted to reveal. I never freeze my eggs, I tell girls to freeze their eggs because career ke chakkar mein they delay.”
The Lock Upp contestant further goes on to say that she would either go for surrogacy or adoption as they are the only two resorts left. Payal Rohatgi then said that she would choose surrogacy first since Sangram Singh wants a “mad kid” like her but she can’t give that to him.

Speaking about adoption, Payal Rohatgi said that for her to adopt she needs to have a marriage certificate as doctors don’t allow live-in. She said, “I will adopt and that’s why I need marriage on paper because doctors say ‘aapki shaadi hogayi hai kaagaz leke aao, they say live-in nahi, get your marriage certificate. I will get the marriage on paper.”
After her breakdown, the actress was comforted and consoled by Azma, Saisha Shinde, and Anjali Arora, who also encouraged her to go through with surrogacy and adoption.
