I feel like our generation’s primary form of communication is not social media but memes. Literally, each and everything that happens on social media elicits Twitter reactions which give birth to some of the most creatively inspired memes I have ever seen. The same thing has happened since the news broke of Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming sequel to the 2019 film, Joker titled Joker: Folie a Deux.
Director Todd Phillips recently announced the sequel by sharing the poster of the upcoming Joker 2 on his Instagram. Not only is the legendary Lady Gaga in talks of playing the eccentric Quinn but the movie is said to be a musical! Songs with dark themes about love and society? Yes, please! And this has piqued the interest of DC fans all over the world which has given birth to a lot of hilarious memes about Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix playing opposite one another in the movie:

Details of Gaga’s character are being kept under wraps, although the Joker is known for his on-again, off-again relationship with Harley Quinn, his psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. According to reports, Gaga will play Quinn if an agreement has been reached. This new Quinn, on the other hand, exists in a different DC reality from Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, who was recently seen in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, among other films.
