‘KWK’ Koffee Awards: Karan Johar Reveals The ‘La La Land – Moonlight’ Moment That Made Him Be Partial To Janhvi Kapoor
I don’t know whether I am happy or sad that Koffee With Karan season 7 has officially ended – I guess, I’m a bit of both. And like everything that is ending gets a proper farewell, so did this season with a grand finale episode. The final episode of season 7 of the talk show saw an award ceremony that celebrated the best of the best. The awards were presented by a jury consisting of comedians Tanmay Bhatt and Danish Sait, alongside social media influencers Kusha Kapila and Niharika NM. Out of the many things that entertained me, jury members addressing some of the on-your-face issues with this season was definitely the winning moment. And one of the issues they addressed was Karan Johar being partial toward Janhvi Kapoor rather than Sara Ali Khan during their Koffee With Karan season 7 episode.
On September 29, the final episode of Koffee With Karan season 7 aired and creating hilarious havoc on the koffee couch were none other than Kusha Kapila, Tanmay Bhatt, Danish Sait, and Niharika NM. They were the jury members that were there for the award ceremony that celebrated the best of the best of the season. While they did that, they even addressed some of the issues of this season – like the one where Karan Johar was being blatantly partial to Janhvi Kapoor rather than Sara Ali Khan during their episode.

In the final episode of Koffee With Karan season 7, the jury said that they agreed with the public opinion that somewhere Karan Johar was partial toward Janhvi Kapoor and ignored Sara Ali Khan. Addressing that, KJo did not decline the accusation and revealed the reason that the world was unaware of until then.

Karan Johar revealed that Koffee With Karan season 7 had a La La Land – Moonlight instance wherein because of an error by the talk show’s crew members, Janhvi Kapoor’s winning moment was ruined. What am I talking about? Well, the host of the show played an AV that showed the results wherein Janhvi Kapoor came out as the winner of the rapid-fire round even though Sara Ali Khan was the better performer. While Janhvi was pleased with the results, Sara expressed her displeasure about it.

However, after a while, Karan Johar was told by the Koffee With Karan season 7 crew members that there was an error while showcasing the rapid-fire results and it was actually Sara Ali Khan who won the hamper and not Janhvi Kapoor. The director then went on to say that after seeing Janhvi in a sullen mood, he was trying to compensate for the mishap by complimenting her over Sara.

Honestly, I think that it was a game and it should have been treated like one. Yes, she lost and yes her mood was down but openly being partial to her to the point where it felt like Sara Ali Khan was being ignored is not okay. And really, what is with all this pampering? It was just a game.
