Kiran Rao Stands In Solidarity With Sonam Wangchuk Amid Ex-Husband Aamir Khan’s Reaction!

The social media feed is filled with people coming out in support of the renowned educationist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk. The man is fighting for the future of youth at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Many actors have also raised their voice for him, and now Kiran Rao is also on the list. She penned a strong note in support of the protest, amid Aamir Khan’s statement about 3 Idiots. Kiran Rao’s Statement On Sonam Wangchuk

Kiran Rao took to her social media handle to share a picture of Sonam Wangchuk, which read, “I support Sonam.” In the caption, she extended her support for the renowned educationist, Abhijeet Dipke and the Cockroach Janta Party, and the citizens protesting for the rights of students. She hailed Sonam Wangchuk, Neha and all others who have taken up a hunger strike as a medium to get justice. She thanked them for making people come out of their apathy and reminded us all that every voice counts.  Kiran Rao expressed disappointment over the tone deaf treatment that the hunger strike was met with, even after 19 days. She called it “shocking and inhumane.”

Kiran Rao requested the government to have a dialogue with the protestors and listen to their pain. She ended the note by saying, “We the people have a right to be heard.”

On the other hand, Aamir Khan, actor and Kiran Rao’s ex-husband, has also commented on the matter. He dismissed the claims that the character of Phunsukh Wangdu from 3 Idiots was not inspired by Sonam Wangchuk. He also agreed with the masses that Sonam Wangchuk should end his hunger strike.
