Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Launches Face Shapewear And It’s Giving Toxic Beauty Standards!

Kim Kardashian keeps experimenting with her brand SKIMS, and this time, she has ‘innovated’ a shapewear for your face. Yes, you heard it right. This is similar to a beauty routine used in the 1992 film Death Becomes Her, about two women drinking mysterious poison that promised eternal youth. And well, looks like we haven’t progressed ever since. The ‘Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap’ is a must-have for one’s night routine, according to her.

Skims Face Shapewear

The SKIMS’ first-ever face product is all about having strong support along one’s jaw and neck, and includes velcro for eyewear. This also has collagen yarns. Though modernised for the 21st century, the sculpted face mask is very similar to the one in Meryl Streep in Death Becomes Her. In an infamous scene, her character sits on a couch wearing a tan face and neck band similar to the one Kim Kardashian launched.

Now, will the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap be enough for eternal youth? Well, according to Yahoo Life, the compression chin wrap works well for temporary results and is not recommended by experts. A facial plastic surgeon told People magazine that this helps with temporary changes in appearance by compressing the soft tissue. Another doctor said that a healthy human being who has not undergone plastic surgery will have minimal swelling from lying flat and would have no cosmetic benefit from this.

Kim Kardashian’s new SKIMS face shapewear is a nearly $50 piece that promises a ‘snatched’ jawline overnight with zero science to back it up. Just infused fabric, velcro straps, and a whole lot of delusion. It looks more like post-surgery recovery gear than a beauty essential. It’s giving insecurity wrapped in hype, literally.
