Khufiya Trailer: Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi Promise A Twisted Spy Thriller

Spy thrillers really get us all going and it’s time to prepare for a new spy thriller film that might blow our minds. Directed and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, the Netflix film Khufiya has been written by the filmmaker along with Rohan Narula. Based on the novel Escape to Nowhere written by former R&AW chief Amar Bhushan, the film stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ashish Vidyarthi among others. Scheduled to release on the OTT giant on October 5, the trailer of the film is here.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s neo-noir spy thriller stars Tabu as Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) operative Krishna Mehra. Tabu’s Krishna is tasked with investigating another operative, Ravi Mohan (played by Ali Fazal), who is believed to be selling the country’s secrets. But all is not what it seems. Krishna has a secret of her own as she begins looking into Ravi for copying top-secret documents that he takes home. On the other hand, Ravi’s wife (played by Wamiqa Gabbi) starts questioning her husband’s loyalty towards the country but is Ravi really betraying his country or is he a patriot? For the unversed, Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Khufiya is based on true events written by Chief of Counter Espionage Unit of R&AW Amar Bhushan in his book, Escape to Nowhere. As per reports, Tabu’s Krishna Mehra is also struggling with a dual identity as a spy as well as a lover in this spy thriller but not much is known about the plot. In an official statement, Vishal Bhardwaj revealed that he is excited to explore this genre while adding that he’s also glad to have an opportunity to reunite with Tabu for the film.

Speaking about the spy thriller, Khufiya, Tabu shared that she’s happy to work with her “favourite” for the third time. She spoke highly of the filmmaker’s vision and storytelling skills. FYI, Tabu and Vishal Bhardwaj earlier worked together in Haider and Maqbool. TBH, we’re excited about their team up too and we just can’t wait to watch this film. What about you?
