They have once again found themselves in controversy after a video of Lara and Megan on stage sparked extremely rude reactions from netizens. During their latest performance at Lollapalooza Brazil, the duo performed an outro dance usually done by Manon and Lara. Many netizens slammed the performance as “old” and boring. Some immediately linked it to the girls’ rumoured boyfriends. They accused Lara and Megan of queerbaiting, saying the duo was faking closeness just to attract attention. Even though the members are openly queer, critics claimed the performance was another example of the group using queerbait tactics.

KATSEYE fans defended the change and said it was a delightful surprise and that the members were simply enjoying the stage together. However, many people outside the fandom continued to attack the group. They argued that the members were once again using queerbait tactics to gain views and popularity.
