Kartik Aaryan Finally Talks About His Rumoured Feud With Karan Johar And His Exit From ‘Dostana 2’
In 2019 the Dostana 2 cast was announced. Following which in 2021, rumours of Kartik Aaryan dropping out of the project did rounds on the internet. This discussion again came to surface with Kartik Aaryan’s reaction to it during the promotions of Bhool Bhulaiya 2. According to the rumors, the reason for Kartik Aaryan’s exit was his professional differences with director Karan Johar. Kartik was supposed to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya in the film.

Dostana 2, a project by Dharma Productions, was supposed to go on the floors by 2019. The Covid 19 pandemic hampered the production of the project along with the rumours of the main lead dropping out.
In an interview with the Indian Express, Kartik Aaryan was asked whether his differences with industry professionals hamper his work projects. To which the actor replied that he just focuses on his work. He also made a subtle reference to his upcoming film lineup.

He was also questioned about rumours that a group of industry insiders was forming a lobby against him. The actor jokingly replied saying that “Log baat ka batangad banate hain”,( people make a mountain out of a molehill). He further went on to say that people move on from things because nobody has time.
Dharma Productions issued a statement last year, when rumours about Kartik’s ‘unprofessional’ behaviour were circulating.It said “We will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha, due to professional circumstances on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence.” The statement further asked the fans for any official announcement.
