Kareena Kapoor Khan To Play A Detective Inspired By Kate Winslet In ‘Mare Of Easttown’?

From Rani Mukerjee in Mardaani to Shefali Shah in Delhi Crime and Tabu in Drishyam, these actresses have brilliantly played the parts of cops in films. We also have Anushka Sharma essaying the role of a detective in NH10 and Sameera Reddy in Race 1 playing a detective as well. Now, we have another leading lady of B-town soon to join this list by essaying the role of a detective for her upcoming project, which is none other than Kareena Kapoor Khan! Yes, and as the latest reports suggest, her role will be inspired by that of Kate Winslet from her web series Mare of Easttown.

Kareena Kapoor Khan to play a detective?
An exclusive report by the Hollywood magazine, Variety, claims Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to play the character of a mother who is also a detective in her upcoming project. The working title of the project is revealed to be The Buckingham Murders. The project is helmed by Hansal Mehta of Scam 1992 fame. Kareena will also don the hat of a producer for the first time in her career with this project.

Giving a gist of the plot of The Buckingham Murders, Kareena Kapoor Khan said that in the project she will be investigating a murder in the small lazy town of Buckinghamshire. Talking about how her role is inspired by Kate Winslet in Mare Of Easttown, the 42-year-old star said that she loved this show. She also said that when Hsanal Mehta approached her for this role, they modelled a bit on Winslet’s character.

Interestingly, the majority of the dialogues in this project are going to be in English which Kareena Kapoor Khan described as being a ‘difficult task’ to do. She also revealed that the plot is very much unlike a regular Hindi film.
