Karan Johar Celebrates 5 Years Of Kalank: “Proud Of The Blood, Sweat And Tears”

Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan recently celebrated Kalank completing 5 years of release today. The movie was released in 2019 that featured an ensemble cast of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and more. Although the movie did not come out as a blockbuster at the box office and was quite underwhelming, it was hailed for its grand opulence, costumes, jewellery and aesthetics.

Karan Johar Celebrates Kalank
On April 17, Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories to share a video post of Kalank, celebrating 5 years, which was originally posted on the Instagram handle of his company Dharma Movies. He shared the video with a heartfelt caption appreciating the movie and said the iconic line from one of the songs of the movie, Kalank nahi ishq hai kajal piya, he further added how these 5 years to a film that will always be special to him in so many ways! He mentioned how proud he feels because of the blood, sweat and tears that went into the telling of the story by Abhishek.
And how some films are beyond results they live on with visuals, soul and music! Kalank will always be that film to him at Dharma and a hashtag that read 5 years to Kalank. Varun Dhawan too joined in the celebration of Kalank completing 5 years of release by sharing a clip of him from the movie.

The movie was a disappointment for Karan Johar but he did not let it get to him. While speaking in an interview with DNA, he revealed that he did not feel a low moment because of it. Instead, he took it positively and praised all the cast and crew members for their hard work.
