2024 seems to be another exciting year in the cinema, with many female-led stories making their way into our screens. And another one in line is Amazon Original film Ae Watan Mere Watan, curated under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film headlined by actress Sara Ali Khan tells the tale of India’s unsung warrior. In the latest teaser of the film, producer Karan Johar presents a unique spin on the announcement. In a video message, the filmmaker/producer is seen in a black suit, narrating the story of his next project–Ae Watan Mere Watan.
Ahead of the film’s trailer unveil, Karan introduces the audience to Usha Mehta, a 22-year-old brave girl, portrayed by Sara Ali Khan. With her heart beating for patriotism for the country during the 1942 Quit India Movement, the film will venture into Usha’s resilient move of opening an underground radio to unite the nation against the British Raj. In the video, Karan also recalls such unsung warriors with mentions of Sehmat Syed from Raazi, and PVC Captain Vikram Batra from Shershaah, whose stories were displayed under Dharma.

In the teaser, we spotted glimpses of Sara Ali Khan as Usha, as Karan announced the film’s release date, which is–March 21, 2024, alongside the trailer release, which is slated for March 4. So, get ready to watch the story of Usha in Ae Watan Mere Watan, directed by Kannan Iyer only on Prime Video.
