Famous punjabi singer Karan Aujla recently made an appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent 2. During this, he made a shocking revelation about getting into legal trouble for saying the word “motherf***ing Gabru” in his famous song called MG Gabru. This came up when he was asked if he had an FIRs against him. After this, the singer also jokingly revealed that he went off to Dubai after this. Read to know more about it here.
Karan Aujla On India’s Got Latent
During the episode, Samay Raina asked Karan Aujla if he had any cases against him, to which he replied saying yes. The singer joked that his legal trouble wasn’t as bad as Raina’s since he doesn’t ask “Would you rather…” questions. After the crown erupted laughing, Aujla revealed he was in trouble after saying, “I’m a motherf***ing gabru” and fled to Dubai after that. After this joke, panelists Tanmay Bhatt, Rahul Dua, and Gurleen Pannu started laughing out loud. For those who didn’t get the joke, Aujla was referencing the Punjab State Women’s Commission taking suo motu cognisance of his song. They stated that it used “objectionable” language towards women. Chairperson Raj Lali Gill told ANI that The songs were not restricted by language or pre-planned in that sense.

She also stated that whenever she took the stage, she would acknowledge that the most important role in her life was that of a mother. Gill also questioned the responsibility of artists and stated that while people claim to respect their mothers, such songs continue to disrespect them. She went on to slam such content for potentially influencing children and asked singers to be more mindful of their role in the society. She further revealed that she had forwarded this case to the BOI and requested that artists involved like Karan Aujla and Yo Yo Honey Singh for his song ‘Millionaire’ be called in for questioning.
