Kannada Actor Ranya Rao Arrested For Allegedly Smuggling Gold Into India, Sent To 14-Days Judicial Custody: Reports
Kannada actor Ranya Rao is currently being interrogated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Bengaluru, as per the reports.

Shocking news emerged Wednesday morning about a gold smuggling crackdown at the Kempegowda International Airport. The police seized 14.8 kg of gold from a Kannada actress, Ranya Rao, and arrested her for allegedly smuggling gold into India. The actress has worked in various South Indian films, and her prominent work is with Kannada superstar Sudeep in the movie Maanikya. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Bengaluru, is currently investigating the matter.
Kannada Actress Arrested For Allegedly Gold Smuggling
Kannnada actress Ranya Rao has been arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Bengaluru for allegedly smuggling gold into India. The actress flew from Dubai on an Emirates airline. As per the news reports, Ranya was wearing most of the gold on herself through various ways but also carried many gold bars in her clothing. The incident took place on Monday night, and the DRI is currently investigating her frequent international trips. The authorities are also investigating if Ranya had some help from the police department. She is the daughter of a DGP-rank IPS officer serving in Karnataka, and many times, the actress has used her connections to have a local police personnel escort her home.
Ranya Rao has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The DRI has been keeping an eye on her after she travelled to Dubai 4 times in the last 15 days, as per the news reports. She is currently being interrogated by the officials.
Ranya Rao has also worked in films like Pataki and Wagah. She made her film debut with Maanikya in 2014.
