Such an insensitive statement!

Slipper Thrown At Kannada Star Darshan For Sexist Remark On Lady Luck

Sometimes public can break the boundary of decency when they are angry at a celebrity. Recently the Kannada actor, Darshan who is currently promoting his upcoming release, Kranti, was attacked with a slipper by a fan. This violent reaction was in response to a misogynistic comment that the actor had made about Lady Luck during one of his interviews. The situation got ugly and instantly the actor was given security by the police.

On December 19, during the promotional event for a song from Darshan’s upcoming film Kranti, the actor was hurled at with a slipper because of a very problematic statement he gave on Lady luck. This event took place in Hosepete and the whole team of the movie was present. During the event, when the fans were cheering and shouting at Kannada stars, one man from the crowd threw a slipper at Darshan, which hit him on the shoulder. The actor maintained his calm and said that it was not the man’s mistake. However, there were no further mishaps that happened during the event and it ended smoothly.

However, there were some strong reactions to this incident. One of the Kannada actors, took to his Twitter account to condemn this act and asked fans not to stoop down to such actions to disrespect celebs.

The Kranti actor, Darshan made a very controversial and demeaning statement about Lady Luck during his interview. He said that if a lady luck knocks on one’s door, they should grab and take her to the bedroom, take away her clothes and not give her back, so she does not go away. The statement received a serious backlash from Twitter users, and he was called out to be misogynistic. However, the actor did not release any statement on this.

Here are some reactions.

It was not really the right way to project your angry emotions, however, the comment made by the actor is definitely unacceptable. Such a demeaning comment on women coming from a celebrity who so many people look up to is really sad. How can someone be so insensitive?
