Kangana Ranaut Credits Negative PR For ‘Dhaakad’ Being A Flop, Asks Why Other Flops Like ’83’, ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’ Are Not Questioned

There are so many films that are made in the film industry but it is not necessary that all of them should be a hit. And the only thing to do in this case is to try and move on. I know this is easier said than done because a lot of money goes into making a film and when it doesn’t fare well, it is a huge financial loss. The same happened with Kangana Ranaut’s film Dhaakad. After being so heavily promoted as India’s first female-centric spy thriller film, it tanked at the box office. While Ranaut is still licking her wounds, she decided to take a jibe at other films that have done better than Dhaakad.

As per a report by Indian Express, the 35-year-old has credited negative PR for why Dhaakad flopped. She also name-called a couple of movies that have done better than her film and asked why nobody is talking about these films being flops. She had taken to her Instagram stories and cleared the air saying that producer Deepak Mukut has not sold his office post the flopping of their film.

She also shared a screengrab of a website that touted films like 83, Jugjugg Jeeyo and Gangubai Kathiawadi as flops and she wrote why is nobody questioning these films. Dhaakad grossed Rs 4 crore at the box office and was made on a budget of Rs 85 crore. There were also reports of theatres cancelling shows of the film because people weren’t going to watch it.
