Kangana Ranaut Backs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Amid Cannes Criticism. The Internet Needed That Reminder

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has come to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s defence over unnecessary trolling on her Cannes Film Festival 2026 appearance. The diva stunned everyone in a blue Amit Aggarwal gown and posed for the paparazzi. Taking one such picture on her Instagram stories, the former slammed the trolls for talking about the veteran and asked if they had “anything better” to show.

Kangana Ranaut On Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

On Sunday, May 25, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram stories and explained how fashion is a “self-expression” and how one shows their interpretation of life through it. She slammed trolls for mocking Aishwarya and said that no woman “owed” them anything and asked them to show what they’ve got. The politician made it clear that Bachchan was not there to “please them”, and if they were not used to seeing older women on the red carpet, they should buckle up, and we honestly think that the misogynists on the internet needed this “gentle reminder.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked breathtaking at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 in a sculpted blue gown with a mermaid cut designed by Amit Aggarwal. She also donned a sheer dupatta with it, and the outfit was made around the concept of “light in motion” with the design interpreting energy and force through construction and engineered craftsmanship. She came to Cannes with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who came in a gorgeous red gown for the L’Oreal Paris dinner. The actor has been representing India on the global carpet for almost two decades now.
