Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has come forward to slam Bollywood for its silence on the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand. She questioned their hypocrisy, stating that they shed ‘crocodile tears’ over the NEET-UG protest by the CJP at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, but forgot to show support for the students in Jharkhand. During the conversation, Kangana Ranaut was asked about her “lombdi” remark on veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah over his comment on the student protests. Defending herself, she said that the film industry has always had this “attitude.” She also spoke about the attack on Parliament and said that many of her friends were climbed upon, with their windows also smashed. Ranaut added that many even climbed the gates of her house, with at least half a thousand people outside, leading to police being deployed. She said that though everyone was supporting the CJP protest, no one had said anything about the beatings of students in Jharkhand.
Kangana went on to slam Bollywood celebrities for not showing support to those students and went on to call them “hypocrites.” The actor had faced criticism just a few days ago after she called Gen Z a “gutter generation” after many participated in the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest. During the same chat, Kangana went back to this statement and clarified what she meant by the same. She stated that if someone who claimed to be a cockroach would naturally live in the gutter and that she never considered herself a “cockroach” and would reject any insinuation if ever directed at her. She went on to say that she never specifically said that the “youth” belonged in the gutter but rather just some people.
