Kalki Koechlin is a mother to her four-year-old baby girl Sappho and the actor has often spoken about her pregnancy experience and what it felt like being a first-time mother. She has never shied away from a difficult conversation about the changes a woman’s body goes through after giving birth like many celebrities do. In an exclusive chat with Hauterrfly’s In Bed With Shenaz with host Treasurywala at Hyatt Centric, the actor spoke about how her vagina felt hard after giving birth and how s*x felt like after that.

Kalki Koechlin On Changes In Vagina After Giving Birth

In the recent chat, Kalki Koechlin was asked about how often couples should have s*x when they are married or in a long-term relationship. To which the actor laughed and said, “I don’t think there’s a number because you go from once a week to no times a week to three times a day. This depends on what phase you are in, and the phases keep changing. It’s like the stock market. It comes back after you think you’ve had a rough spell when the baby is young but then it kind of comes back.”

The actor was then asked about what couples should do in such situations to which she said, “I am thinking back to the time after I had Sappho and my vagina was destroyed and raw, like I couldn’t even look at my vagina because it was hard. After that slowly getting back to s*x was painful and so I remember talking about it because it’s very difficult for me to say no. For me, I do think that talking helps. He was very understanding you know, he discreetly used to do what he needed to do behind the shower quietly.”

She concluded the conversation by saying, “He was patient because I had gone through a lot, I was torn and had stitches and nobody talks about these things. This is the sh*t we should be talking about and not just postpartum because even after giving birth I had some problems and had to go back to gynaecologist and have surgery.”

Talking about such things is really underrated but we should because everyone makes the process look very easy but in reality, it’s not. The female body goes through a lot bringing someone to life in whatever way they choose to do. And by talking about her experiences Kalki Koechlin inspired a lot of women to feel normal after whatever they have experienced.
