K-pop female idols have a very hard life because people watch everything they do and judge them quickly. Recently, veteran singer BoA faced a massive trouble after hateful graffiti targeting her was found on bus stops and billboards near Gangnam station. Photos of the rude messages made rounds online and left fans worried. Following which, they cleaned the graffiti themselves and posted videos of the cleanup.
These events showed the heavy pressure BoA still deals with. On May 23, she shared a video with her new short blonde hairstyle. She looked bright and full of energy in the clip. However, some netizens passed negative comments about her new look. They said she looked different and preferred her with long hair. At the same time, fans sent lots of love. They called her cute, praised her as the prettiest, and told her to ignore the hate.
Earlier on April 5, 2025, BoA joined entertainer Jun Hyun Moo on a casual live stream where both had been drinking. Their friendly chat and close actions, including BoA touching his face, made many viewers uncomfortable. Some people did not like celebrities drinking on camera and called the moment too flirty.
BoA recently left SM Entertainment after 25 years and started her own one-person agency. This big step marked a fresh beginning in her career.
