In a surprising turn of events, three popular HYBE girl groups have decided to work together. LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE are joining hands for a special song. Fans have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and now it has finally come true. The groups will release a new track called Iconic by Mistake. On June 7, the groups announced that they would drop a special digital single later that week. The full song, Iconic by Mistake, will be available online on June 12 at 1 p.m. KST. Fans will not have to wait that long for everything, though. The official music video will come out one day before, on June 11 at midnight KST. On the same day, the three groups will perform the song live on Mnet’s popular show M Countdown.

This project feels even more interesting because a remix of their songs Pinky Up, Boompala, and It’s Me recently went viral. The remix mixed parts of their tracks and went viral online. Many people listened to it again and again. Now, seeing the actual groups come together makes the moment even more special.

Not all reactions have been happy, though. Some fans are unhappy and accuse the groups of copying other groups. They point to SM Entertainment’s subunit called Got the Beat and say HYBE is trying too hard to follow the same path. These fans feel the concept is not fresh. On the other hand, many defend the collaboration. They explain that bringing artists together in a small unit is not a new thing, as it has happened in the music industry for many years.
