Marriage Counsellor Testimony Reveals Amber Heard Often Initiated Physical Assault On Johnny Depp To Stop Him From Leaving
If you’ve been on this planet long enough, you’d have some idea about the court battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The two have been in the news quite often because of their long-running messy court cases (yep, plural). And now as this battle between the former couple continues, many witnesses from both – Johnny Depp and Amber Heard – sides have come forward and testified that both of them mutually abused each other with a gradual escalation in violence.
In the latest hearing that took place on April 14, a marriage counsellor, Laurel Anderson, who worked with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard during their rollercoaster of a marriage testified that their relationship was marked by “mutual abuse” and revealed that both of them had been victims of domestic abuse when they were kids, however, both of them approached their marital relationship with different temperaments.

The marriage counsellor further went on to say that Johnny Depp, who was in his late 40s and early 50s during his relationship with Amber Heard, had been “well-controlled” for “almost 20, 30 years”. But that changed when he married Heard. She said, “I thought he had been well-controlled for decades… And then with Ms. Heard, he was triggered, and they engaged in what I saw as mutual abuse.”

As per reports, the counsellor further revealed that she oversaw a number of therapy sessions with both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard – together and individually. She also stated that in 2015 and 2016, each of her sessions was an hour to 3.5 hours long. Laurel Anderson had given her testimony in a deposition before the trial took place. In her testimony, she said that at first their sessions were dominated by Heard and that she “talked over him” as well as “cut him off”. She said, “He couldn’t keep up with her rapid-fire way of conversation… And so he was really overwhelmed.”
Laurel Anderson went on to say that she had sessions with Amber Heard with bruises on her face and she was shown pictures of her with more bruises. She also revealed that she believed that Heard has also been violent towards Johnny Depp on various occasions. Anderson further spoke about how she believed that it was Heard who initiated the physical fights between them more often. The marriage counsellor said, “I know she led on more than one occasion and started it, to keep him with her… Because abandonment and having him leave was her worst nightmare. I think he may have initiated it on occasions too — that I’m less sure on.”
Anderson went on to say that Amber Heard confessed to “escalating” the fights by physically assaulting Johnny Depp to stop him from leaving. She said, “If he was going to leave her to de-escalate the fight, she was going to strike him… She would rather escalate the fight than have him leave.”

The marriage counsellor further said that in one of the solo appointments Amber Heard described an incident wherein Johnny Depp was intoxicated, incoherent, and was talking about being with another woman, and Heard “socked” and “slapped” him for it.
Another witness that testified in the court was a private doctor, Dr. David Kipper, who revealed that he treated the actor’s finger that was sliced in Australia in March 2015. He went on to say that Johnny Depp claimed that he got the wound after Amber Heard threw a vodka bottle at him. He also said that Depp was bleeding heavily and even though he treated the wound he isn’t sure exactly how he sliced his finger.
This is no doubt a messy case and only in the end of it all will we know what actually happened.
