‘Jogi’ Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh In And As Jogi Takes The Centre Stage To Tell This Emotional Tale Of Friendship And Survival

Films on friendships are often heartwarming to watch. But once in a while, there comes a movie based on friendship that shakes your core and redefines the meaning of the word itself. And Netflix’s upcoming movie Jogi is one such film. Its cast includes Diljit Dosanjh, Kumud Mishra, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur in lead roles and it is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The trailer of Jogi was dropped on August 30, 2022, and by the looks of it, the movie looks intense and heartbreaking as it tells an emotional tale of friends who stick during the toughest of times to help each other survive, quite literally.

Jogi Trailer Dropped

The two-minute-12-seconds video starts with a date and place stamp that reads New Delhi, 31st October 1984. The trailer then goes on to show Diljit Dosanjh AKA Jogi living a happy and normal life with his big Sikh family who has breakfast together and have a good time together. Amyra plays Jogi’s love interest in the film. But all this happiness fizzles out as gunshots are heard next.

Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub who essays the role of a cop tells Jogi that he, too, should flee with his family to Punjab as Delhi is not safe for them. But he refuses by saying that his friends are here and will not leave them behind. Jogi also cuts his hair off so that he is not recognised as a Sikh. He, along with his friends, is seen hiding other Sikh families in trucks so that they can be carried away to Mohali.
