How Much Did Janhvi Kapoor Get Paid For Peddi?

As per Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed that Janhvi Kapoor has been paid RS 8 crore for Peddi. The insider revealed that this was the biggest paycheque of her career and she was a thorough professional on the sets. Talking about Devara, which starred the actress alongside Jr NTR, she was reportedly paid Rs 5 Crore, making it a jump of about 50 per cent. The source also mentioned that with back-to-back success in the Telugu film industry, Janhvi is considered to be the woman with a “golden leg” in the fraternity, commanding a 100 percent success ratio.

Peddi Controversy

After the film was released, many called out the makers of Peddi for the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character. Netizens highlighted how casually her character was reduced to being nothing but a s*xual object, providing no substance to the storyline. This once again sparked the conversation about the portrayal of women in Indian cinema. As per the report, the director of the said film, Buchi Babu Sana, reacted to the backlash and told Screen that he hadn’t anticipated that the scenes would be perceived so negatively by the audience. He further mentioned that they would be careful and make better representations. For the unversed, after the controversy erupted, the makers removed the problematic scenes from the film.
