Grammys 2024: Zakir Hussain For Pashto, Shankar Mahadevan For The Moment, And More Indians Who Bagged Wins!

It’s a big day for all the Indians because we have bagged many Grammy awards this year! The prestigious awards took place on January 4, Sunday and prominent Indian musicians Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain bagged big wins! The pictures of them receiving the Grammy 2024 award went viral on social media and it’s a moment of pride for all the Indians.

Zakir Hussain

The famous Indian musician and composer Ustad Zakir Hussain again won big at the Grammys. The musician brought home three big wins for Best Global Music Performance for ‘Pashto’ this year. He received the award along with  Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer. That was not it, he also won another award for Contemporary Instrumental Album for As We Speak. Zakir Hussain’s third award of the night was in the Instrumental Composition category for ‘Motion’. This musician won his first Grammy Award in 1992 for Planet Drum.

Shankar Mahadevan

Another historic picture from the Grammy 2024 award was of singer and musician Shankar Mahadevan’s band Shakti receiving the honour in the Best Global Music Album category music album ‘The Moment’. Mahadevan’s team included Percussionist V. Selvaganesh and Violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan. Twitter hailed his win and congratulations poured in for Shankar Mahadevan in big numbers.

Rakesh Chaurasia

The famous Indian flautist Rakesh Chaurasia won two awards for Global Music Performance for ‘Pashto’ and the other one in Contemporary Instrumental Album for ‘As We Speak’.

Many people reacted on Twitter and celebrated the wins of these famous Indian musicians at Grammy 2024. Pictures of the winners went viral on social media and the Indians expressed their pride in them. Last year, Indian musician Ricky Tej won the Grammy 2023, and he too congratulated the winners this year.
