It’s established that there is no one in this industry as unfiltered as Imran Khan. The same was reflected when he spoke about co-parenting his daughter, Imara, with ex-wife Avantika Malik. He also stated how his child stays with him three to four days a week, adding that planning playdates for his daughter gets hard as moms feel hesitant to send their child to his place, as he is a single man in the house. Know what the actor stated in detail.
Imran Khan On Moms Feeling Hesitant To Send Their Child To Playdates
While speaking with Parineeti Chopra on her new show Mom Talks, Imran Khan revealed that while organising playdates for his daughter Imara, he would call her friends’ moms, but they would seemingly decline it by saying “not today.” He soon started noticing that some moms were maybe not comfortable sending their child, particularly if it’s a girl, to a house where a single man is living.
However, he realised their perspective. Imran shared that we coexist with problematic men in this world, so he understood where this thinking originated from. But this was heartbreaking for him, and he had to tell his daughter that her friends could not come. Imran also shared how mothers come together to support a fellow single mom but single fathers lack that support because of the restrictive version of manhood that is taught to all men. The actor shared that because of that, some of the most vulnerable parts of oneself may not get addressed.

This Is What We Think
It takes a lot of courage to talk about such things publicly. We applaud how Imran Khan saw this situation from the other perspective as well. Having mentioned the problem he faces with his daughter’s playdates, he also revealed understanding where her friends’ moms may also come from. Many lack the ability to see it from this lens. It’s also sad that being a divorced man, he doesn’t get the kind of emotional support that he needs from others, but we hope that that changes with time and many men understanding the fact that it’s okay to be vulnerable.
