A woman grabbed his hand as he was leaving his hotel with security and going to the stadium during the current IPL season. Why A Woman Grabbing Abhishek Sharma Is Problematic!

In the video, we can see that Abhishek Sharma’s hand was grabbed by the woman without his consent. She seemed to grab him with all her might as he was physically moved, and he seemed to be shocked by it. This is very disrespectful, to say the least. People at this point show understanding that celebrities also have boundaries, and those should be respected. When it comes to celebrities, we understand that fans have a lot of love that they want to express, but it should never be at the cost of what happened with the cricket player.

It Should Not Be Praised

Many might look at the said incident as if it were cute, but it’s actually cringy. It’s the fact that if a man had done that, the consequences would have been different. And as it should be. But we feel that every human, regardless of their gender, who touches, especially grabs, without the other person’s consent, should be held responsible. It’s 2026, and it’s problematic that some people don’t even understand basic things. Watching that video makes us feel bad for Abhishek Sharma. 

Although the woman who grabbed his hand has clarified her side, stating that she did not mean to do that. She mentioned that she was trying to shake his hand and she accidentally grabbed him, adding that the venue was crowded and she was nervous as well. She also apologised for hurting people’s feelings.

The woman apologising for this incident is admirable. We understand that meeting your celebrity crush or idols can be a huge thing, but their boundaries should equally be respected regardless.
