Harshvardhan Rane On Film Remakes And Re-Releases

In an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly, Harshvardhan Rane shared his opinion on Bollywood relying on remakes or re-releases. He said, “It’s human nature to follow trends. If one person starts a podcast, it’s likely others will follow suit. Similarly, if someone creates a certain type of show, others might imitate that format. This is because of two things: conformity and compliance. People tend to follow what others are doing. There’s also a psychological theory by Albert Bandura called “learning by observation.” There are only 3 theories in psychology. One of them is psychodynamic theory—whatever you see around you, that’s what you do. So, if you want to do something, you will end up looking around. There’s nothing wrong with it.”

“Also, don’t you go back to your old friends; don’t you go back to your ex; don’t you as a human get remarried. So, this is human nature. Sometimes, when we’re around new people we don’t know well, we reach out to our old friends. We find comfort in familiar things, like a simple, home-cooked meal. We feel safe and secure in familiar spaces and with familiar people. So, that’s one of the reasons why this happens.”
