Harnaaz Sandhu Hits Back At Trolls For Saying She Won Miss Universe Because Of Her Pretty Face, Compares Pageant To Olympics
Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was recently titled Miss Universe 2021 and has brought home the crown after 21 years. The 21-year-old model from Chandigarh, India, was crowned Miss Universe 2021 on December 12th, 2021, and made our country proud. But why are some people still doubting her achievements and capabilities? Recently, a lot of trolls claimed that she won the prestigious pageant only because of her ‘pretty face’ but Harnaaz did not let it slide and gave them a befitting reply. The trolls need to calm down!
The model-actor has won numerous pageants including Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017, Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018, and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. She said that there are many people who are saying that she only won the pageant because of her pretty face but she knows the amount of hard work that went behind it. “There are a lot of people who say [I] won because [I] have a pretty face. But I know the amount of effort that went behind it. Instead of indulging in arguments, I’d rather work hard to make them realise [my worth]. This is the stereotype that I want to break. This [win] is a lot like an Olympic [win]. When we appreciate a sportsperson who represents the country, why can’t we [appreciate] beauty pageant winners? However, mindsets are changing, and I am happy to be breaking stereotypes already,” Harnaaz said in an interview with Mid Day.

Harnaaz Sandhu also spoke about her Bollywood plans, she said that she doesn’t want to be a normal actress and would like like to break stereotypes by choosing strong characters. She made her television debut with the hit serial Udariyaan. She has also worked in some Punjabi films including Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and the yet-to-be-released Bai Ji Kuttange.
