Nawazuddin Siddiqui Is Honoured To Learn And Work With 80 Real-Life Transgender Women In His Movie, ‘Haddi’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the finest actors in Bollywood right now – I dare you to fight me on this. The roles he has played and the way he has played them – chef’s kiss. And if you ask me, his finest is yet to come. In fact, I believe we’ll see his finest in his upcoming revenge drama, Haddi, where he plays the role of a transgender. To think that this journey would be easy for him is to dismiss all the hard work he has put into it. In fact, recently Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed what it was like to play a transgender and how 80 real-life transgender women helped him to ace this role in Haddi.

In a recent interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui opened up about the experience he had when working on Haddi and how it was because of the 80 real-life transgender women, who also feature in the movie, he could ace the role of a transgender woman.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “Working with real-life trans women has been an incredible experience. It is an honour and privilege to understand and learn more about the community. Their presence was empowering, to say the least.”

Ever since the first look of Haddi was out, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a transgender woman has become the talk of the town. In the first look, the 48-year-old actor looked unrecognizable as he wore a shiny silver dress and red lipstick that elevated his overall drag look.

Haddi which is set to release in cinemas in 2023 is a revenge drama starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the lead. The movie is directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma who has also co-written it along with Adamya Bhalla. The movie will see the Sacred Games actor in a never-seen-before avatar.

Ngl, I am eagerly anticipating this movie. I can’t wait to see what the Gangs of Wasseypur actor has in store for us.
