Oscar Winning Producer Guneet Monga Partners With Dharma Production, Thanks Karan Johar For Being Her “Guiding Light”

Filmmaker Guneet Monga is currently riding high on the success of her documentary short film The Elephant Whisperers. The documentary recently won an Oscar for best documentary short film. And now the filmmaker is set to team up with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Taking to Twitter, Guneet Monga announced that her production house, Sikhya Entertainment is set to enter a content partnership with Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guneet Monga announced that her production house Sikhaya Entertainment and Dharma Productions will be forming a partnership to produce “unique stories”. Highlighting that Sikhaya attempts to tell “diverse and captivating stories”, it is an honour and privilege for her that the production is teaming up with Dharma for both films as well as OTT content.

The two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker also took the opportunity to thank Karan Johar and Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta for being her guiding light and being generous while highlighting how far they have come since teaming up for The Lunchbox. Following the premiere of The Lunchbox at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, Dharma co-distributed the film with UTV Motion Pictures.

Speaking about the partnership, Karan Johar expressed his excitement and stated that this alliance will give Dharma Productions a chance to team up with another production house to generate content with their shared passion for producing innovative content and telling stories that resonate with people. He called the alliance a unique blend of brands that support unconventional and diverse talent. Guneet Monga said she is thrilled to collaborate with India’s leading production house and team up with their experience and expertise to create unforgettable cinema!

We’re super excited about this partnership. I mean, it brings together a mainstream Bollywood production house with an Oscar-winning production house. FYI, the production houses haven’t announced any projects yet but as per a report by Deadline, they will reveal details in the coming 2-3 months.
